Mr Knights started his career in the Army’s Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers corps, before later moving into telecommunications engineering. As a project eld engineer with Nokia, he was piloted in to manage the most complex and remote mobile installations in Europe. “About 70% of the sites were very rural, so I was dealing with farmers and landowners and helping to solve their problems. e countryside is my passion and I think it’s vital to communicate e ectively and treat the land with respect – and I bring that professionalism with me to my new role,” he said. UPL’s former communications manager, Janine Heath, has taken up a new role as Marketing Communications Manager at Agrovista. Janine, who studied broadcast journalism at Sta ordshire University and is based in North Scott is general manager Crop Systems Limited has appointed Scott Morgan as its new general manager. Scott, who has a wealth of experience in multi-site management in the manufacturing, retail and hospitality industries, will be in charge of day to day operations at the company’s new factory. Crop Systems Limited was founded more than 20 years ago by Ray Andrews, and is renowned for its innovative range of potato storage technology. As a result of expansion, it moved to a new purpose-developed factory and o ces at Happisburgh, Norfolk, where the 15,500 square foot of space houses all parts of the company’s manufacturing, as well as parts storage, new o ces, meeting and training rooms. ScanStone has appointed Craig omson as the new area manager for Scotland. Craig covers Scotland with the entire ScanStone product range and is in charge of dealing with customers and dealers within this area. All product demonstrations will be organised through Craig and with his extensive knowledge and experience of machinery, will often be conducted by him as well. e complete Tong product range is dealt with by ScanStone in Scotland as well. Satellite depots in Turri and Muir of Ord help ease the spring and harvest time pressure for Craig with parts being readily available at both these areas. Craig has worked in the industry for most of his working career. Tim hands over to new team after 26 years at helm Managing Director Tim Dud eld has made the decision to retire after 36 years of working at FarmElectronics in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Tim has been at the forefront of the business, leading the company to achieving growth and a great reputation within the crop storage industry. Heading the sales side of the business, Tim’s customer rapport and knowledge of storage systems will be missed by many but in the background, there has been mentoring of two of the new management team, Alex Gadsby and Adam Fryer who will cover Tim’s role in the future. Tim will also take up a consultant role in the business going into 2020. Tim said: “I’m delighted that by merging with the Dutch based Tolsma Grishnich group I have been able to secure a very positive future for the both the sta and loyal customers of Farm Electronics.
