www.potatoreview.com POTATO REVIEW JULY/AUGUST 2020 45 MACHINERY HORSCH’s new PrecisionSpray pulse nozzle system is now available on all new Leeb PT self-propelled and Leeb LT and GS trailed sprayers. PrecisionSpray uses the latest generation pulse width modulation nozzle controls to ensure spray volumes are consistent across the eld despite variations in sprayer speed or changes in boom speed when turning. As a sprayer turns the speed of the boom across the ground is dramatically faster on the outside than the inside, and e ect increased as the boom widths get greater. PrecisionSpray’s curve compensation alters the spray volume proportionally across the boom length to ensure the same volume of spray per square metre from the inside to the outside of the turn. HORSCH UK General Manager Stephen Burcham said: “Although pulse width modulation (PWM) has been available for some time from various manufacturers, PrecisionSpray is one of the rst to integrate the technology completely into our own HORSCH sprayer software without requiring third-party controllers, making it easier to use.” In addition to curve compensation, PrecisionSpray o ers stepless adaption of the volume ow at constant pressure and drop size and is able to adapt the application rate without changing the spray characteristics. Directly integrated pulse width modulation Potato and root crop machinery specialist Dewulf has launched the SC 360 cultivator. is 3.6m wide machine can be mounted at the front or back of the tractor. Following the previously introduced SC 300 and SC Compact, this is now the third type in the SC series of cultivators, which have already made a name for themselves as being reliable and extremely durable. e SC 360 was developed for growers who plant at 4 x 90 cm and want perfect planting bed preparation. e cultivator ts every tractor model and can be mounted at the front or back. With front mounting, it can be easily combined with a potato planter. With its large rotor diameter of 650 mm, the Dewulf SC series tills deeply, with plenty of loose soil imade available for optimum ridge formation and the good growing conditions. e SC 360 is equipped with 132 tempered steel hooks to take on any type of soil. e cultivator is available with various options, such as chisels or clod breaking roller. E cient restructuring of compacted soils Spaldings will be the exclusive distributor in the UK and Ireland of the patented Sabre tine assembly, a multi-component system designed for e cient restructuring of compacted soils using subsoilers or cultivators incorporating soil loosening tines, which is manufactured by specialist cultivations equipment manufacturer Tillso. Spaldings managing director Steve Constable said: “Distributing Tillso’s Sabre retro- t system will be complementary to our highly-durable SPL Ultra cultivator, subsoiler and seed drill coulter points, and the other ranges of soil- engaging parts we supply for tillage and drilling.” e patented Sabre design consists of a common point and shin used with a choice of four soil-lifting wing assemblies. is enables growers to equip their heavy tine implements with the most appropriate con guration for restructuring of compacted zones in di erent soil types at di erent depths. e Sabre systemwill loosen subsoils across the entire working width with minimal disturbance at the surface, according to the manufacturer. In addition to being standard equipment on Tillso’s Advantage subsoiler, the Sabre system can be retro- tted to a large number of other manufacturers’ subsoilers and cultivators equipped with soil-loosening tines. 3.6m wide cultivator launched
