www.potatoreview.com POTATO REVIEW NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2020 45 MACHINERY Update and minor facelift for the R3060 DEWULF has re-fitted its R3060 series sieving harvesters with several updates. Every new R3060 is now equipped with a new, more environmentally- friendly Scania Stage V engine. To further optimise the engine performance, the engine compartment also got a new grille for improved heat management. In the cabin, the driver’s comfort has also been further improved, thanks to new HD monitors and cameras. e most recent version of the R3060 is driven by a 350 or 400 hp Stage V Scania engine with AdBlue system which reduces the emissions of soot, ne particulates, and nitrogen from the two-row self-propelled sieving harvester. anks to an extra grille in the bodywork, the hot air produced by the engine can escape more easily, to increase the service life and performance. e camera at the back of the machine and the one on top of the bunker discharge elevator are each tted with a wide-angle lens. is provides the driver with an excellent view of the area behind the harvester when driving in reverse. It also means he has a more complete and sharper view when lling transport vehicles or boxes, which enables him to better judge when they are fully loaded. Split hood designed for smoother cultivation THE MS 4000, trailed four-row belt planter from the Structural range, can now be optionally con gured with a split hood for use in bed cultivation. In this con guration, the belt planter can follow the contours of the individual beds even better. is option was developed following feedback from Irish and French growers, and netuned with their help. On the MS 4000 with split hood, the opener beam is split in two. Both parts are suspended by their own parallelogram construction. Each half has two furrow openers and its own ridging hood: two two-row beds are thus formed. In addition, there is a divider in the middle between the two beds that ensures a maximum amount of soil is available to the hoods to form perfect beds. e optional Ferti-Flow kit (granular fertilizer distributor) is suitable for use in bed cultivation thanks to its larger discs. In addition, the depth control wheels of the MS 4000 have been further improved. eMS 4000 is the largest belt planter in Dewulf ’s current Structural range. e Structural is suitable for the place-speci c planting of a wide variety of seed potatoes. Its innovative technology automatically determines the best planting distance between two potatoes, depending on their size, for optimal growth.
