Annual events took place at the Isle of Ely, ColdhamEstate nearWisbech, Crowland and Caythorpe near Grantham last month. The annual open day event at ColdhamEstate, wasMeijer’s 15th year of trialling and showing on this site. “As ever, it will give us great data as we continue to develop and expand theMeijer portfolio,” the c mpany ann nced on its social media pages, adding that the locally-gr wn Acou tic is its newest addition to the pre-p ck sector. Meijer Potato UK also attended the Isle of Ely open day in September, showing theMeijer chipping range to k y chip shop owners from a ross the UK.These i cluded: Lady Terra, Lady An a, Lady Jane, and CMK-2016-538-003. GrampianGrowers displayed a portfolio of 10 EU varieties, as well as nine of itsmost advanced clones from the GPS breeding programme at the Coldhamvariety trials. PotatoManager DavidMurdie said two f the national listings, 12GPS 160 A10 and 12GPS 161 A4, b th table/baker varieties, were very high yielding. Both have resistance to GRostochiensis, while 12GPS 160 A1 has parti l resistance to GPallida. Another national listing, the table/ baker/chipping varieity 12 GPS 168 A5 has good resistance to GPallida.
