Despite the usual fundraising activities like bake-o s, sta events and ra es being limited during 2020, the Grant team still managed to pull together and raise a fantastic £10,000 for their chosen charity- the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Just some of the fundraising activities included a Valentine’s Day Bake Sale which raised £100. Also, Grant UK’s Head of Marketing, Anna Wakefield, ran the virtual Bath Half Marathon and fundraised £810 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance through her JustGiving page. Other fundraising initiatives, including the selling of old company equipment and furniture, also helped contribute to the total. “2020 was an incredibly diŽcult year for charities in particular,” writes Anna. “Despite the pandemic and restrictions, the Wiltshire Air Ambulance has continued to deliver vital medical assistance and support to critically ill and injured patients throughout. Charity funding is more important than ever, and Grant UK is thrilled to present this latest donation to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Exposing them to a wide range of opportunities available within the engineering sector. The STEMAZING Inspiration Academy will support women working in STEM industries worldwide and help promote the careers on o er to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists. The initiative will provide female participants with the skills and confidence to deliver a series of engaging STEM workshops for primary school children. Star has also provided additional funding support to guarantee places for five women from Africa on the STEMAZING programme. The selected participants are refrigeration and air conditioning engineers working across the African continent, who will gain the skills and confidence to become role models for local school children. 45 female STEM professionals from the UK, Europe and Africa will take part in the STEMAZING Inspiration Academy webinar training programme, which runs from March to June 2021. Beating his own existing record of 3 hours, 8 minutes and 14 seconds. Shubert is a former British 24 hour cycling champion and also holds the world record for riding the 130km distance across Oman in only 48 hours. The relatively flat route from Milton Keynes to Norwich was covered with an average speed of 54.4kmh with a top speed of 77kmh.
