The COPPA room air purifier offers five stages of filtration as well as real time monitoring for PM2.5 particles. The range is designed to protect against particulate, virus, bacteria, and volatile organic compounds (VOC). Firstly, a coarse filter layer for larger particles and secondly a fine layer providing protection against damaging PM2.5 particles. These layers are followed by a unique woven copper layer. Copper is a proven anti- viral, anti-bacterial agent and is very effective at reducing risk. This is followed by an activated carbon layer and finally the unit has an ultraviolet (UV) plenum. The COPPA units offer automated airflow management, increasing flow when PM2.5 particles in the air exceed safe levels and reducing again when they don’t. This extends the life of the filter and makes the unit very quiet. The COPPA unit currently comes in one size which is suitable for floor footprints of up to 50m², with a new larger unit coming soon. For larger rooms we currently recommend using multiples of units. Jasun also offers room ventilation adequacy assessments which offer peace of mind for employees and visitors. This service has been customer- driven. Details of these units can be found at https://www.room-air-purifier.co.uk/ • Jasun Envirocare Plc is one of the UK’s oldest air filter manufacturers and will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. NEW TRANE CHILLER FOR DATA CENTRES Trane is launching its new R1234ze Sintesis eXcellent GVAF chillers for high temperature data centre applications. The upgraded chillers feature new magnetic bearing centrifugal compressors optimised for handling high water temperatures typical for data centres and can efficiently operate throughout the year. The latest Trane Symbio 800 adaptive controller gives the data centre operators intelligent control over the operational reliability and efficiency of the cooling system. The Trane Rapid Restart setting reduces the time needed to reach the full capacity after shutdown. It also features an automated transfer switch allowing to connect the unit to two power sources. The unit will detect any power supply cut off and automatically switch to the auxiliary source ensuring continuous operations. The new Sintesis eXcellent GVAF includes an upgraded free cooling system tuned to the rising temperatures of the modern data centres. This allows data centres to more efficiently combine free cooling with mechanical fan operation to optimize the energy consumption of the system. It also features a reduced footprint, three different pressure levels for hydraulic modules and various water connections options. www.trane.eu S&P UK LAUNCHES WIRELESS CO 2 MONITOR PSoler & Palau Ventilation UK (S&P UK) has launched an intelligent wireless carbon dioxide monitor as part of a new range of indoor air quality sensors designed to help businesses, education and healthcare settings manage poor air quality levels and lower Covid infection risks. The new AirSens range monitors ambient indoor air quality (IAQ) and sends a signal to ventilation systems to increase airflow rates if a spike is detected in one of three parameters: carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), volatile organic compound (VOC) or relative humidity (RH). AirSens comes in three versions: AirSens CO 2 , AirSens VOC and AirSens RH. A traffic light LED system indicates the air quality level: green (good), orange (medium) and red (poor). The Government said in new Covid guidance that CO 2 monitors should be used in a range of sectors and settings to help identify poorly ventilated indoor areas, take action to maximise fresh air, and reduce the risk of airborne transmission of diseases. The AirSens CO 2 monitor can be adapted to fit any space due to its wireless technology and is designed for indoor areas where occupancy rates can change frequently. The AirSens VOC is designed for places with sporadic changes to the accumulation of substances derived from odours such as alcohols, ketones and organic acids. The AirSens RH is most efficient in highly humid areas such as bathrooms. www.solerpalau.co.uk
