CMYK / .ai CMYK / .ai CMYK / .ai acrjournal.uk Although there are over 700 apprentices registered across all regions in England, and at least 70 apprenticeships have been successfully awarded, ACRIB says there is still much to be done to encourage new students and make sure training is available for those who wish to take it up. ACRIB regularly hears from employers about the di culty of finding local training, and news of existing training providers who no longer have lecturers or who have stopped taking on new students due to capacity problems. ACRIB, which brings together the major trade associations and professional institutes in RACHP, would like to coordinate industry support for training. Ideas currently under consideration include providing access to learning resources for new students, putting trainers in touch with useful CPD resources to help update their skills, and encouraging more industry professionals to consider teaching the next generation of technicians. ACRIB member organisations will be discussing these issues with their members, employers and trainers over the coming months to find out what kind of support is required and that our associations could usefully o er.
