A welcome return of Chillventa attracted over 30,000 visitors and 844 exhibitors for another great exhibition. There were fewer halls than last time, but still some tired legs from visitors and people manning the stalls! I had the pleasure of viewing the National Final of the RACHPskills UK competition at Barking and Dagenham College. With six of the UK’s finest vying for the title, there were plenty of friendly rivalries across the three days, and while all are highly skilled fantastic role models for others, Luke Haile, the eventual winner, stood out from the rest. Congratulations Luke. The IOR Scottish Dinner – which appears to sell out quicker than tickets for a Peter Kay gig–took place at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow. Over 500 guests paid an emotional tribute to the late Murray Sharp, former managing director of Kooltech, as he was recognised for outstanding contribution to the industry. A fantastic event all around, and thank you to all involved for putting on another calendar highlight. In this edition, we continue our Women in ACR feature with Diane Drummond of B-DACS Air Conditioning Services and demonstrate how government-funded schemes can lead to strengthening a workforce with J&E Hall. With this, the last edition of ACR Journal in 2022, I’d like to wish you a very merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year. Andy 4. News Key industry updates 11. Tools Talk 12.
