CHANGING FACES 34 PAUL BEVINGTON, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, BEIJER REF UK & IRELAND Paul Bevington has joined Beijer Ref UK and Ireland as business development manager (director designate). Paul is a familiar face within the food retail industry where he has held senior business development positions promoting the transition to CO 2 refrigeration with Carter Synergy, EPTA and Carrier. He is a qualified refrigeration engineer, IOR member and has a degree in building services engineering and HND in mechanical engineering. Ged Grimes becomes business unit director and Lisa Cox sales director of the UK business unit. Ged has worked in the industry for more than 25 years as a qualified installer and Corgi Inspector, and, more recently, as the business unit director for the IBP Group of Companies. He said: “I look forward to working with the UK team and Conex Bänninger’s customers in my new role and I look forward to contributing to the excellence and growth of the brand across the UK.” Lisa also has nearly 25 years’ experience, having held sales positions with mechanical and natural ventilation businesses, as well as also being a qualified installer. She said: “Having worked extensively within the pipe and fittings market I feel very privileged to be in position to help guide the UK sales team to success.” www.conexbanninger.com ALAN DUNCAN, CEO, VERT TECHNOLOGIES UK-based compression technology pioneer Vert Technologies has appointed Alan Duncan as CEO, taking over fromDr Phil Harris. Duncan has extensive SME and PLC experience gained from over 30 years involvement in the energy industry, principally in engineering, manufacturing and service businesses. He said: “What really appealed to me about this new role was Vert’s pioneering work in the compressor space, which is a product of the intellect and enthusiasm of a committed team of people, and I’m looking forward to getting started. Continued investment from committed private investors, alongside significant public grant funding, underlines the enormous potential of the company’s conical rotary compressor (CRC) technology.” Dr Harris is stepping down following three successful years in charge of Vert. Under his stewardship, the Edinburgh-based company has transitioned from a young business focused on disruptive technology development to an established commercial entity, building its own place in the industrial compression landscape. Having worked at Condair for 12 years, Darren moves from his previous role of service sales manager. He said: “I am very happy to have taken on the area sales manager position, across both humidifiers and dehumidifiers, and am now responsible for much of the south east of England, from Kent to Suffolk, including east London. I’m looking forward to getting to know our customers in these regions, and helping them improve their productivity and working environments through enhanced humidity control. It will also be great to be back in front of clients, providing CPD training, either in-house or online.” David Marshall-George, UK sales director at Condair, said: “It’s great to have Darren join our UK sales team.
