Actress, comedian, impressionist and author Ronni Ancona was guest speaker and, referring to the current review of the F-Gas Regulations, FETA chairman Paul White said: “The EU has taken a more ambitious line than expected and the UK is also expected to challenge industry to find more environmentally friendly solutions and I know this is a subject close to Ronni Ancona’s heart through her ambassador role with the Environmental Investigation Agency, which has strongly challenged governments, and thus our members, to do more for the environment.’’ He also touched on the Energy-Related Products Framework for the UK, starting to go through the consultation phase and beginning with heat pumps. He said it was essential to work with government to maintain common standards, adding: “We must recognise the divergence between the UK and Europe on net zero targets, whilst still working to make the UK an attractive market to do business in for multinational companies.’’ Paul White addresses guests at the FETA Lunch Newsome invests in chiller rental fleet Temperature and humidity control expert Newsome has taken delivery of a new range of energy e cient chillers and air handling equipment, for both industrial and environmental cooling applications. The new rental range is said to feature the latest energy e cient and environmentally friendly manufacturing technology, with many of the products featuring low GWP refrigerants. Director Richard Metcalfe said: “With the warmer months fast approaching, our new rental equipment will enable customers to rent a brand-new chiller to keep their manufacturing processes going, whilst they carry out necessary maintenance and checks on existing equipment. Or they can be used as an emergency back-up in the event of a mini heatwave, when average temperatures exceed 30 degrees – which can result in equipment failure and downtimes. “We’ve invested in energy e cient and environmentally friendly rental equipment, to provide our customers with the most cost-e ective systems available.”
