August 2020 Issue 110 Your charity newsletter E very year, hundreds of you take part in Challenge events like the London 10K and Great North Run, raising thousands of pounds for Coeliac UK by getting people to sponsor your effort. Due to coronavirus, we’re expecting to lose 75% of the income we normally receive through these events in 2020, which is why we’re asking you to try something new. Take part in the Coeliac UK Challenge Weekend, 19-20 September, and help us to complete our 1500km journey around the UK, whilst raising vital funds to support your gluten free community. Getting involved is easy. Simply choose an activity you love (it could be walking, running, cycling, swimming, rowing - anything goes!), pledge a distance and fundraise if you can. On 19-20 September, complete your pledged distance wherever suits you, in a socially distanced and safe way, and throughout the weekend, we’ll be adding up the total kilometres completed to see if together, we can make it around the UK. Anyone can join in, whether you want to set a fitness goal, or are looking for new ways to get moving. Create a contest between your friends, or do it with the family – the weekend is what you make it, and we can’t wait for you to join us! By taking part in the Coeliac UK Challenge Weekend, you can ensure that Coeliac UK continues to be here for everyone who needs to live gluten free, today and tomorrow, whilst achieving something great, together. Sign up for £10 to receive your virtual fundraising pack, or for £20 to get your Coeliac UK T shirt and fundraising goodies in the post. Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a digital certificate and medal via email, for you to proudly share with your friends and family. Get support Once you’ve signed up, don’t forget to set up your fundraising page via JustGiving and invite friends, family and colleagues to sponsor your challenge. You can access instructions on how to do this after you’ve signed up.
