Volunteers’ Week on 1-7 June 2021 celebrates and showcases the valuable work of all volunteers. We’ll be using the week to shine a light on our volunteers across the UK. We’ll also be giving those thinking about becoming a volunteer the opportunity to come to our virtual ‘open days’ and find out what it’s like to volunteer with Coeliac UK. Look out for more information in our next monthly email newsletter or give our friendly Volunteer team a call on 01494 796117 . We hope you can join us. Mini Volunteers’ Conference The idea behind the Mini Conference is to host an event for all our volunteers to connect with each other, invite guest speakers to share their volunteering experiences, and of course, have some fun. We held our first event on Monday 22 March and it was great to see so many familiar faces and new ones too. Thank you to those that joined us. The feedback tells us the event was well received and most took something away from the day. We’ve also been given lots of other great ideas for future planning. “An interesting and enjoyable event. It was good to meet and chat with other volunteers and listen to the speakers. It was particularly fun to watch them cook churros online” Janet, East Lancashire And a big thank you to our guest speakers: • Hilary Croft, Coeliac UK • Margo Harrison and Linus, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People • George Gillespie, Volunteer Now • Louise Wagstaffe and Steve Love, Delicous by Design
