Crossed Grain November 2020

November 2020 Issue 111 Your charity newsletter C hristmas and New Year can be especially hard in times like these, and tackling coeliac disease and a gluten free diet is the last thing anyone wants to add to their list of worries. It’s never been more important to talk to those who understand, and we want everyone who needs to live gluten free to know that we’re here for you, however big or small your question. We’ve done everything that we can to continue providing the information and advice that you need in 2020, via our Coronavirus Hub, Helpline and other services, and hope that, whatever your query, we’ve been able to help you. It’s been a tough year for our gluten free community, with many of you facing anxiety around coronavirus and access to gluten free foods, as well as separation from loved ones and uncertainty around employment. Give the gift of support this Christmas You can give the gift of support this Christmas by heading over to or sending your gift in the donation envelope included with your newsletter. That’s why we’re asking, if you can afford it, to give the gift of support to our gluten free community this Christmas. By making a donation of £27, you can help us continue supporting those in need in 2021. Your donation could make a huge difference to someone who’s struggling with their diagnosis, helping them to access the vital information and support they need to have the best Christmas possible. Many of you have donated already this year - thank you. Donating now, if you can, is a way to give back to someone else at a time when they need us most. “You have been such an amazing help to our family since my daughter was diagnosed 5 years ago. Thank you.” Joanna Thornton “It’s taken some time, but I now feel much more confident and I am embracing the gluten free diet.” Gary Smith “Thank you so much for supporting me when first diagnosed. If it wasn’t for Coeliac UK, I’d have really struggled. Your support is so invaluable.” Luisa Spinelli
