28 Autumn/Winter 2021 T he Coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on people’s mental health, making this year’s day the most important yet. According to research, more than half of adults (60%) and over two thirds of young people (68%) said their mental health got worse during lockdown (16,000 people surveyed). HAE EHA’s Mental Health First Aid course runs for one day and for those who want to become a Certified Mental Health First Aider for their company. Delegates will learn how to spot signs of mental illness, how a positive mental health culture can be supported in the workplace, and give them the confidence to step in and support a person who needs assistance.
