26 2021 Awards T ravis Perkins Tool Hire was recognised among the amazing achievements of hire and supply companies across the UK’s plant, tool, equipment and event hire industry at the recent Hire Awards of Excellence. Charlotte Bingham took home the Apprentice of the Year award, beating off some strong competition and rightly being recognised as a hard-working, inspiring apprentice. Despite only being with the business for one year, and with no previous experience of the industry, Charlotte has really found her feet within the hire team and has already been promoted to an assistant hire manager position. When asked how she felt about winning, Charlotte said: “I am so happy! I continue to be amazed by the amount of support I have received since starting with Travis Perkins. I’m so proud to have won, especially with being so new to the industry.” Charlotte’s branch manager, Thomas Lloyd added his congratulations: “I’d like to say how happy I am to see Charlotte recognised for this award. She has put an incredible amount of effort into her apprenticeship and benefited from it in ways I couldn’t imagine. She has recently got her first promotion and I see such a bright future for her. It just goes to show that if you commit, put the hard work and effort in, you can achieve anything. Charlotte has the world in her hands.” Charlotte is currently completing a Level 2 Hire Controller Apprenticeship which is delivered in house by the award-winning Travis Perkins Apprenticeship Team. As an employer provider of apprenticeships, the Travis Perkins Group delivers programmes against 11 different apprenticeship standards and has more than 800 of colleagues currently enrolled onto a programme. The Travis Perkins Group also won Product of the Year in partnership with JCB, for the wider wheel, 1T HT Dumper. Working closely with the manufacturer, it was able to help engineer out the risk of dumpers tipping while in use - a really worthy win for the Travis Perkins Tool Hire team.
