Issue 3 2020 15 T he Executive Hire Show, a key industry event for those in the UK plant and tool hire sector, has been put back three months because of the ongoing uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 situation. Publishing &Events Director Chris Moore recently announced that a decision had been made to reschedule the original date of February 10th and 11th toWednesday, April 28th and Thursday 29th 2021. “We have not taken this decision lightly,” he said. “However we have consulted with event managers, hirers and many of our commercial partners, and all con rmed that they would rather the event is moved and stringent safety procedures observed than the show not take place at all.” He added: “We appreciate that this decision will impact on preparations and travel plans, however the health and safety of all Executive Hire Show attendees and exhibitors is paramount. We hope you will understand why we have had to take this course of action.” Organisers say exhibition space is already more than 70% booked for the event, which is due to take place at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. The show is a trade-only event open to hire executives throughout the UK and Ireland, and it has also attracted hire industry visitors from Europe and beyond. Senior executives from procurement and purchasing departments of national hire operations attend, along with independently-owned hire outlets.
