20 Summer 2021 APPOINTMENTS & TEAM UPDATES COTSWOLDWAY CHALLENGE 2021 H AE EHA’s Learning and Development Officer, Nikki Wyllie, took part in a 53km challenge along the Cotswold Way recently to raise money and awareness for the charity Mind. The Cotswold Way challenge tackles very steep inclines and declines, along winding country lanes with live traffic and woodlands trails which made conditions during the walk very challenging. Nikki started walking at 7.40am and was withdrawn from the challenge by the organisers 10 hours later at 5.40pm as she timed out before reaching the next checkpoint. In those 10 hours Nikki pushed herself both physically and mentally through narrow paths with overgrown stinging nettles either side, huge hills, loose footing going down hills and through very high temperatures on the day. Nikki took on the challenge with her Mum and together they raised £710 for Mind with donations still coming through. This is a charity Nikki is very passionate about. She said support for mental health is more important now than ever, following a very difficult year for everyone.
