Summer 2021 07 www.hae.org.uk www.eha.org.uk B oels Rental has supplied a range of equipment which has been deployed on outside COVID-19 testing sites throughout the UK. Boels engineers adapted 76 of the X-CHAIN LED lighting towers to 240v, 32amp specifically for the COVID-19 sites. They then linked a series of the sets together to run from one single generator. These helped to lower fuel costs and reduce carbon emissions. The X-CHAIN LED lights have been operating successfully for several months, and will continue to be in service until the sites are no longer required. The Trime X-CHAIN LED is a stand- alone tower floodlight fully equipped with stabilisers, retractable handles, fork- lift pockets and a telescopic, stainless steel mast. Illumination is provided via four low consumption long life LED lamps, delivering over 2000sq. metres of safe, bright lighting. Up to four Trime X-CHAIN LED sets can be connected together using the simple ‘socket-in/socket- out’ system and then attached to a single power source - either ordinary mains or a portable generator. The Trime X-CHAIN LED has no individual fuel costs or carbon emissions and operates totally soundlessly. Boels Rental has a network of 750 branches in 17 European countries. In the UK, Boels has 36 depots supplying compact plant, tools, generators and access, including nine dedicated Survey & Laser locations, with more openings planned for 2021. BOELS LIGHTS UP COVID-19 TESTING SITES S outh West independent hire firm Tool Care Hire has expanded its excavator fleet by investing in 28 new Kubota machines following a period of significant business growth. With more than 30 years’ experience, the hire company purchased the machines from Chepstow Construction Equipment’s (CCE Plant Sales) Tiverton depot, made up of the Japanese manufacturer’s K008-3 and KX030-4 models. Tool Care Hire now boasts a fleet of more than 75 excavators across its four depots in Exeter, Exmouth, Torbay and Okehampton. The K008-3 is a super compact, efficient one tonne mini-excavator that offers enhanced digging performance for tough jobs where space is limited, whereas the KX030-4 is a three-tonne excavator that has the largest cab in its class, so operators can work comfortably for long periods. Tool Care Hire owner Martin Phillips said: “With homes at the heart of the country’s coronavirus recovery, we have seen a surge in house building in the South West, which has a led to increased demand for construction equipment, particularly mini-excavators. “All of the Kubota machines we’ve ordered are already back out on site and being put to work, highlighting just how booming the construction industry in the South West is currently.” >> CUSTOMER DEMAND DRIVES NEW KUBOTA PURCHASE FOR TOOL CARE HIRE
