Swift Rio 340
British motorhome manufacturing
giant, Swift Group, is entering 2015
with a brand new star: the sporty,
compact Rio range. With the size
of a panel van in the body of a
coachbuilt motorhome, the two
models are 6.40m long, a similar size
to the extra long Fiat panel vans seen
in the Autocruise range.
Both models offer a rear lounge,
but the 320 is a two-berth with sofas
that are long enough to be single
beds or they can be pulled together
to make a large double. The 340,
however, has a front half-dinette
lounge providing two extra travel
seats, while the rear lounge makes a
transverse double.
Look up in the 340 and you’ll see a
drop-down bed. It’s electric and has
three positions: it can be stored away
against the ceiling, halfway down so
you can make the bed below up and
use the motorhome as a four berth,
or can be dropped all the way down
to the lounge seats. Both models
come with a full GRP rear panel that
contains the opening tailgate and
have an electric step as standard for
easy access. On-the-road prices will
be £44,400 for the 320 and £45,400
for the 340.
In addtion, all coachbuilt
motorhome ranges feature new
SMART intelligent construction and
there are enhanced ranges and new
layouts. There’s also clear definition
between the ranges with Escape
as the entry-level offering, moving
up to the new Rio, the Esprit, then
Bessacarr, finally ending at the
Bolero and Kon-Tiki Black Editions.
