9. Dress Code Within competition stand You are expected to wear your usual site work wear including safety boots, gloves and safety glasses in order to carry out the competition tasks in a safe manner. Anyone in the competition stand will be required to wear appropriate safety work wear. Please review the risk assessment, method statement and checklist for PPE that identifies footwear, coveralls, glasses/goggles and gloves that are suitable for the task and area of work. After the competition there will be presentations You may wish to wear a clean work shirt showing your company/college logo. 10. Security of Personal Property Whilst the COP and its partners take every reasonable precaution to prevent theft of equipment during the events, we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage incurred. Please remove any valuable items from your stand when it is unattended and ensure that your employer/college have suitable insurance cover in place for any loss or damage. 11. Local site rules All personnel involved in the build-up, competition, and break-down of the competition area must sign into the venue reception and adhere to the local site rules for health & safety. There will be a competition induction prior to commencing any work in the competition area. You will be reminded of this as part of our Toolbox Talk during the induction and briefing sessions. 12. Finalists Only the six highest scores above 50% from all regional heats who have complied with WSUK rules, can be invited to the Worldskills UK national skill competition finals. · National finalists compete for the individual Gold medal and the RACHP skill UK award. · Accommodation and meals are covered for all finalists. · Sponsors provide awards for all competitors. The final is held in the month of November each year. Competitors are expected to arrive for an induction & familiarisation day before competition starts. Competition commences on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There will be a team feature event on Saturday followed by the awards. 13. What happens after the national final Competitors who are age eligible (under 23 in 2024) and scored above the benchmark 60% can be invited to Worldskills UK Squad. A maximum of four Squad members will be invited to progress further with WSUK sponsored training events. The training can ultimately lead to one person representing the RACHP industry for Team UK at the Worldskills International skill competition in Lyon, France 2024.
