2021 Awards 13 YOUNG APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR The hire industry needs to attract new talent and this year HAE EHA wanted to shine a torch on some of the budding talent joining the industry. The Young Apprentice of the Year award celebrates the success of individuals and recognises the hard work, dedication, commitment and talent they show early on in their careers. The nalists are: - Faris Cooke - Vp Brandon Hire Station - Tamzin Leigh Edwards - South West Tool Hire - Lee Gillett - GAP Group - Lucy O’Rourke - Sunbelt Rentals - Jamie Roper - Speedy - Flyn Zardecki - One Stop Hire Highly Commended: Flyn Zardecki, One Stop Hire Winner: Lucy O’Rourke, Apprentice Plant Fitter, Sunbelt Rentals The judges commented that this young Apprentice Engineer stood out above any other apprentice in the business they work for. They are not intimidated in the slightest and have become a dedicated, conscientious and a shining example of a model apprentice. Recommended by their course tutor, not only did this finalist demonstrate personal development but also a real impact on the business. BEST HAE MEMBER COVID-19 RESPONSE The Best HAE member Covid-19 response category was created this year, to recognise companies who adapted their business to meet the immediate challenges faced at the outset of the pandemic, those who implemented longer-term changes to working practices and those with new products and services specifically launched to tackle Covid-19. The nalists are: - HSS Hire - MCS Rental Software - Point of Rental Software - Speedy - SRL Traffic Systems Ltd - Sunbelt Rentals - The MHM Group - Travis Perkins Tool Hire Highly Commended: HSS Hire and Speedy Winners: Sunbelt Rentals The judges commented that the recipient has communicated and demonstrated excellent nationwide support to all of their colleagues with strong strategies and values to support its workforce throughout the pandemic. They have clearly led the way in supporting the NHS with service provision to support the national roll-out of temporary COVID- Testing facilities as well as providing extensive RPE Face-Fit training to NHS workers in order to support keeping them safe whilst continuing with their invaluable and commendable work during such challenging times.
