Paramount Interiors shortlisted for award Paramount Interiors have been recognised and shortlisted within the finals of the Insider Media Wales Property Awards 2021, for their refurbishment works at Fusion Point One in Cardiff. They completed the redevelopment of the 65,000 ft² four-storey office building on behalf of Fidelity UK Real Estate, with SEAM Architects, Paragon BC, Morgan Structural Limited and EVORA EDGE. The inclusion of a variety of different applications can completely transform the character of a room and amongst these approaches is an increase in the use of metal profiled sheet. By using innovative technology and flexible processes, profiled sheet consists of different profiles such as sinusoidal, trapezoidal, and zigzag. And equally, a wide range of materials including stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and copper – all suitable for applications including external and internal cladding, ceilings, staircases, and balustrades. The Fulmar building on the Greenwich Peninsula has a distinctive form generated by the irregular plot shape, which follows the sweep of one of the streets nearby. The building comprises 139 residential units and over 200m² of commercial space, plus private amenity space and public realm, car and cycle parking. Profiled sheet was specified because of the ability to create a unique façade design and was kept consistent through a shared palette of materials. www.amronarchitectural.co.uk Bringing bespoke creativity to life Three appointments to leadership team at finishing manufacturer Finishing designer and manufacturer, aask us, has strengthened its leadership team with three internal promotions. Working with fit-out specialists, Portview, and architect Hawkins\Brown, the five floor 32,000ft² shared offices feature two rooftop terraces, event spaces, breakout areas and kitchenettes. Clockwise Wood Green comprises 664 desks with technology to support hybrid teams and a range of spaces to work in. The building adopted a biophilic aesthetic with a living wall of plants spanning the full height of the central atrium. By emitting oxygen into the surrounding spaces, the foliage helps promote a healing, peaceful working environment, which in turn improves memory, cognitive function and productivity. Portview Contracts Director, Sean McEvoy, said: “By collaborating with the client and design team, we came up with innovative fit-out solutions. This included establishing closed-loop solutions that reduced waste and benefitted the local community by either restoring, recycling, donating or repurposing old materials that otherwise would have ended up in landfill.” Retaining the existing building and some of the original services helped to reduce carbon emissions throughout the fit-out, while furniture and finishes were sourced from sustainable suppliers to help achieve BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standards.
