Adrian Bass
Bath and West Wilts Local Group
Introducing Adrian Bass, the Group Organiser of Coeliac UK’s
Bath and West Wilts Local Voluntary Support Group.
He loves nothing more than welcoming new Members to the Group.
Why do you think Members like coming
to the Local Group’s events?
Everybody gets a friendly warm welcome and,
particularly with food based events, can be assured
of a totally gluten-free experience.
What information do you think
Members need?
With the market place rapidly expanding with
new companies and new products, food
fairs help keep people abreast of what is
available on the gluten-free market.
What was your last
Local Group event?
Our last event was the Group’s
annual visit to Bath Catering
College for lunch on 14 January.
It was a great success and
enjoyed by all our Members who
attended. The catering students
always put on an amazing
gluten-free spread and it’s nice to
think that we are helping them to
develop their gluten-free cooking.
How long have you been involved with your
Local Group?
I’ve been involved with the Local Group for 10 to
12 years now – time has flown!
How many of you are on the committee?
There are eight very loyal Committee Members
of the Bath and West Wilts Local Group and we
have a very supportive and willing band of
Member volunteers, who are always
there to lend a hand.
Why did you get involved
with the Group?
I enjoy organising and get
great satisfaction from
seeing the pleasure people
get from attending our
Local Group activities.
Members, particularly
new ones, get to meet
like minded people and
pick up many and varied
tips and hints on eating
gluten-free.
