Get involved
Join the Coeliac UK
Campaign Network!
The Coeliac UK Campaign Network is
a group of Members and supporters
who campaign to make life with
coeliac disease free from the many
restrictions, doubts, frustrations
and worries that come from having
a lifelong autoimmune condition.
Just a little time, given by a lot of people adds up to a
campaigning movement that can create real change for the
future. If you are interested in campaigning to improve the lives
of people with coeliac disease then make sure you get involved
in our Campaign Network. You can choose to do as much or as
little as you like. Your time and involvement can really make
a difference.

Welsh
Volunteers’
Conference
A very successful Welsh Volunteers’ Conference was held in
Colwyn Bay on 15 October 2015, giving volunteers from across
the country the opportunity to meet face to face and share
their experiences.
Tristan Humphreys, Coeliac UK Lead in Wales, and Claire Kett,
Coeliac UK Commercial Account Manager, gave talks on the
latest news from Coeliac UK and discussed a number of topics
including availability of gluten-free products and prescriptions.
During the event, attending volunteers enjoyed a gluten-free
buffet and had the opportunity to sample a range of products
from a selection of our commercial partners.
Thank you to everyone who made the event a successful
and informative day, including our volunteers, our sponsors
and commercial partners.
Local Groups
in Scotland
30 Committee Members from across the Local Groups
network in Scotland attended a special Volunteers’ Meeting in
November 2015, to discuss how Local Groups can play a key
role in making a difference for people living with coeliac disease
in Scotland.
Myles Fitt, Coeliac UK Lead in Scotland, led the meeting and
various ideas were explored, such as improving gluten-free
choices at tourist attractions, sharing knowledge of where to
find the best local gluten-free venues, supporting people with
coeliac disease, the use of foodbanks, and spreading awareness
of coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis.
It was a very engaging meeting with lots of interesting
discussions. Local Groups will now consider how they take these
ideas forward in 2016.
