If you have hired equipment to a known fraudster or after a period of weeks have not received a reply in attempts to recover payment, you may be a victim of fraud. If you suspect you may have been scammed or involved in fraudulent activity, or have information about a possible fraudster, you can report this online using the Met Police www.met.police.uk/ro/ report/fo/fraud . If you suspect the suspect left any evidence, for example ngerprints, or you have CCTV footage of them, call 101 immediately. The police will then make a decision on whether to send someone to collect the evidence. They may be able to recover forensic evidence from areas where the suspect has been or from items that have been moved or left behind. If you need to tidy up before the police arrive please try not to disturb things. Don’t touch any blood, shoeprints or items handled by the suspect. If any of these things are outside, please cover them over. Once you have completed the simple online form, giving as much information as possible, the investigation can begin. You will be able to download a copy of the report for your own records. You will be contacted within 48 hours, with a crime reference number or further advice. <<
