Spring 2021 53 www.hae.org.uk www.eha.org.uk Introduction to Hire Train the Trainer Programme in HM Prisons: Multiple Train the Trainer sessions were delivered online to prisons across the country, enabling prison workers to deliver the Level 1 Introduction to Hire course. This was very well received and opened the trainers minds to hire as a career option. HAE EHA is working closely with key contacts to continue the momentum, delivering additional sessions for any interested delegates who complete the programme. The course provides the foundation required for further hire specific training and qualifications which will support ex-convicts when seeking employment. Delivery Packs for Introduction to Hire: To assist HAE EHA members in delivering this learning programme to their customers, delivery packs have been prepared containing all the essential materials. The packs also provide content useful for recruitment campaigns or as an introduction for anyone new to the business. Please keep the HAE EHA Training team up to date when you deliver a course and how many delegates were trained by sending the information to training@hae.org.uk . Level 2 Hire Desk Operative (HDO) Programme Goes Online: We recently delivered the first module of the Hire Desk Operative Specialist Applied-skills Programme online, using a series of interactive video calls. The eight delegates involved were issued tasks to complete between calls, enabling the trainer and assessor to get everyone registered and start the qualification. Further online sessions are planned for the group as they move through the learning programme, and for learners from earlier intakes who are further into the course and closer to completion. Partnership with Arden University: This new venture will enable HAE EHA to deliver Level 6 and Level 7 (degree-level) programmes. Better still, these programmes are delivered online in a unique ‘digital- first’ approach to learning. These Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMI Accredited) and the Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship plus MBA courses were co-created with industry employers and partner organisations, and include support from the Government’s Apprenticeship Levy. Whether or not an organisation pays the Levy to HMRC they are able to utilise funding raised in the UK to support apprenticeships. Unlike in previous years, apprenticeships vary from the traditional Level 2 entry programmes through to Level 7 senior management. The Apprentice Levy will support the majority of costs for employers engaging their employees on such programmes. An intake has gone ahead this Spring and another is planned for October 2021.
