In 2016, in addition to the much loved intermediate and
challenging walks, we are also launching a brand new two day
event – the Jurassic Coast Challenge, which includes a stay at
one of HF Holidays stunning houses.
The Jurassic Coast Challenge
This year we have something a bit different, for those of you
who are up for a challenge and an opportunity to explore some
of the UK’s most exquisite coastline – the Jurassic Coast.
Our two day event, supported by HF Holidays, will
include two days and nights of full board at HF Holidays’
Lulworth Lodge.
Imagine this: you arrive in the evening of Friday 6 May,
ready for a satisfying and delicious gluten-free dinner at
Lulworth Lodge, under the reassurance that HF Holiday’s
have GF accreditation. After a good night’s sleep and a solid
breakfast you’ll be taken with the group to Corfe Castle where
we will start our first day of walking, a 20km walk to the coast
and then along the Jurassic coastal path back to Lulworth. On
Sunday we will head out once again, this time to the pretty
village of Osmington, 10km away from Lulworth. We’ll then
negotiate the steep inclines and slopes to make our way back,
via the very popular Durdle Door, reaching Lulworth Lodge in
time for a gluten-free cream tea, before we all say goodbye to
one another and head home.
This special two day event has only a limited number
of places – registration fee is £5 per person plus a £300
fundraising target per person, although this does include
your full board accommodation costs.
WALKS 2016
AWARENESSWEEK
“What I liked about our group was the huge age range from just 18 months to retired folk.
Several teen/pre-teen children took part who all got on famously. I’m sure they doubled
their distance as they raced backwards and forwards across the streams. Each walker had
their own stories to tell of their diagnosis, some quite recent and some many years ago.”
Alison, 2015
Now in their sixth year, our Awareness
Week Walk events, kindly supported by HF
Holidays, are going from strength to strength.
They have been enjoyed by over 1,000 walkers,
and have raised over £55,000 for Coeliac UK
since they began.
